This policy explains what personal information MIM Early Learning collects through this website (including information about your child that you choose to share), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language; if anything is unclear, contact us and we will explain it.

Who we are
MIM Early Learning is an infant and toddler early learning centre in West Vancouver, British Columbia. We operate this website and are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

As a private organization in British Columbia, we handle personal information in line with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to answer your inquiry, arrange a tour and keep this website working. We do not buy personal information and we do not sell yours.
- Information you give us about yourself when you use our Book a Tour or Contact forms: your name, email address, phone number, and anything you write in your message.
- Information you give us about your child: your child's name, date of birth or age, gender (optional), the program and schedule you are interested in, and your desired start date. Please share only what you are comfortable with; optional fields can be left blank.
- How you heard about us, if you choose to tell us on the tour form.
- Information collected automatically: when you browse the site, our hosting provider's servers record technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and the time of the request, for security and to keep the site running.
- Cookies set by embedded content (see the cookies section below).
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use the information above to reply to your inquiry, to schedule and prepare for your tour, to manage our waitlist if you ask to join it, to keep the website secure, and to meet our legal and licensing obligations.
We rely on your consent, which you give when you submit a form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us; we will then stop using your information, except where we are required by law to keep it.
Information collected during registration and enrolment (for example medical information, immunization records and authorized pick-up persons) is handled under our Parent Handbook confidentiality policy and BC Child Care Licensing requirements, not through this website.
We do not use your information to make decisions about you by automated means alone.
Where your information is processed
Some of our service providers store or process information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. When information is processed outside Canada it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to Canadian law.
How long we keep it
If your family does not enrol, we keep inquiry and tour-request details for 24 months from our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. If you join our waitlist, we keep your details while you remain on it. If your child enrols, records are kept as required by BC Child Care Licensing regulations. After that, information is securely deleted.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to our using it.
To make a request, email mimearlylearning@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting, and we will only ask for what is necessary to do so.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is intended for parents and guardians. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 13. Information about your child should be submitted by you, as their parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
How we protect it
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to the details you send us is limited to the MIM staff who need them to respond. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant regulator, as required by law, if a breach affects your information.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites, such as Instagram and Google Maps. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them. Please read their policies before giving them your information.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will make that clear on this page.
